High-performance desiccant rotor

The desiccant rotor consists of a honeycomb structure made of fibreglass, coated with highly hygroscopic silica gel. The flutes provide an enormous internal surface area, enabling efficient and effective moisture transfer. The rotor material is silicone-free, non-flammable and -respirable and the rotors are largely maintenance-free.

Compact industrial design

Portable design with a corrosion-resistant AISI 304 stainless steel housing in a 3-hole configuration. Equipped with a combined air inlet and separate dry air and wet air outlets with circular spigot duct connections for fast and easy installation. The units come with a ready-fitted power cable, allowing immediate connection to a standard 230 V outlet for mobile or stationary use.

PTC-reactivation heater

The Condair DA 160-440 uses a PTC reactivation heater, whose self-regulating characteristics prevent overheating by adjusting internal resistance and electrical current based on its temperature. This ensures safe, reliable rotor regeneration and improves operational reliability. The integrated ampere meter simplifies commissioning and monitoring, enabling quick and accurate verification of heater performance.

Operating Principle

The 3-hole design utilizes two airflows for dehumidification and regeneration. A third rotor section uses residual heat to preheat the reactivation air, thus increasing efficiency.

The Condair DA 160–440 units are designed to operate exclusively in non-pressure-neutral scenarios. Installation requires either directing the dried process air into a room or chamber, creating positive pressure, or placing the dehumidifier directly in the space to be dehumidified and venting the wet air outside. Venting wet air generates a slight negative pressure in the room, which draws in fresh air from outside or adjacent rooms. This effect can be beneficial, for example in basement spaces, as it helps prevent odours from spreading.

What are the drying capacities and airflow rates of the Condair DA 160–440 units?

The Condair DA 160-440 series offers the following capacities, measured at 20 °C and 60 % relative humidity:

What operating modes and control options are available on the Condair DA 160–440?

The Condair DA 160-440 series are designed for more simple applications. They can operate manually at full capacity by setting the mode switch to Manual, or they can be connected to an external hygrostat or other electrical humidity controller. In this case, setting the switch to Auto allows the unit to start and stop automatically based on the humidity level.
