ZSL London Zoo

ZSL London Zoo is the world's oldest scientific zoo, having been formed in 1828 for scientific study and then opened to the public in 1847.Condair steam humidifiers are helping to keep animals such as spiders, snails and beatles comfortable and healthy, at the humidity levels they would typically have experienced in their indigenous environments.

The Green Planet Bio-Dome

The Green Planet is a bio-dome in Dubai offering visitors the chance to explore a striking variety of tropical plants, insects, reptiles, birds and mammals. This contained tropical rainforest is maintained at a constant 24-27°C with high humidity, ensuring an ideal climate for the flora and fauna.The building has been designed with sustainability in mind, having received the Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification and is fully compliant with the Dubai Municipality green building regulations and specifications.The Condair's ML Flex high-pressure humidifiers installed are capable of introducing up to 720 litres of moisture per hour to maintain the desired internal humidity while also providing up to 490kW per hour of low energy evaporative cooling.

SITPlus Facility (Sterile Insect Technology)

This purpose-built sterile fruit fly facility, in Port Augusta, Australia, is using Condair RS humidifiers to create the ideal environment for raising sterile fruit flies. Once reared, these flies are released and mate with wild female fruit flies. The result is the wild female flies cannot reproduce and numbers of wild fruit flies are controlled, thus safeguarding the horticultural industry in South Australia and Victoria.With pressure mounting on farmers to use fewer chemicals to control pests, this innovative technology is gaining momentum in Australia. Condair is proud to contribute to this important project that improves productivity for the horticultural sector.

Melbourne Zoo

Melbourne Zoo is located in Victoria, Australia, and is the oldest zoo in Australia having opened in 1862. Condair has supplied and installed several systems including CP3 Minis and 505's at the Melbourne Zoo with the world's largest stick insect "Vanessa". The humidifiers are helping maintain high humidities around the Zoo improving the welfare of the animals and plants in their care.

Taronga Zoo, Sydney

Condair supported Taronga Zoo, Sydney by manufacturing and installing precision-controlled resistive steam humidification systems for the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Centre (ARC). Residents include the Tuatara, Southern Corroboree Frogs, Inland Taipans, Reticulated Python and many more. Condair was tasked with providing a humidity control solution that could be adapted to each exhibit as well as back of house supportive areas in the facility. With each of the housed residents being such a wide variety in species, a range of conditions would need to be managed at any given time of the year with strict control. Our team selected the RM model for this project due to its small installation footprint - ideal for the scale of the facilities. 46 humidifiers were supplied in total.

Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden

The 1,600m2 area of the Konya Tropical Butterfly Garden accomodates 15 different species of butteflies. Up to 20,000 butterflies can be oberserved flying around 98 different species of plants in this unique and carefully controlled environment.ML Princess high pressure humidifiers are providing high capacity, low energy evaporative cooling and humidity control to maintain an optimum atmosphere for the insects and their human guests.

Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) headquarters

The Animal and Plant Health Agency's (APHA) central laboratory and headquarters based near Weybridge, Surrey, is an internationally recognised veterinary research and laboratory testing facility. It has a remit to protect the UK from a wide range of diseases, which can affect both livestock and in some instances, human health.It is a place where advances in veterinary and scientific research have been achieved that have had an impact on a global level. Most recently it tested several thousand samples for avian influenza following the outbreak of the H5N8 HPAI virus in farmed and wild birds found in the UK and across Europe. It was at the heart of the UK and EU science response, providing scientific evidence and advice to government in controlling the outbreak.Condair EL and CP3 Mini electrode steam humidifiers are maintaining the ideal humidity levels for laboratories at the facility.

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine

The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), founded in 1898, was the first institution in the world dedicated to research and teaching in the field of tropical medicine. As a registered charity, the organisation works across the world, often in very difficult circumstances, to fulfil the mission of reducing the burden of sickness and mortality in disease endemic countries.Part of the LSTM's work involves researching antivenom. Condair steam humidifiers are maintaining the humidity around the snake rooms of the Alistair Reid Venom Research Unit, to ensure the health and comfort of the snakes housed there.
